La
Fruta Margarita
The Hartford Courant – June 7, 2007
The really great thing about this fruity, zesty, strong margarita
concoction– and, believe me, there were a lot of great
things about it – is the fact that it didn’t quite
taste like any I’d ever enjoyed before. I couldn’t
quite place its unique flavor, so I took another sip, and then
another. My confusion wasn’t for lack of trying. [READ

Happy
Hour In Hartford: Allyn Street – Unwinding at Agave
Grill
CTNow.com – May 7, 2007
This Mexican cantina is known for its fresh, zesty south-of-the-border
cuisine – in
particular its fresh Guacamole, which is literally prepared tableside
by your servers as you watch them blend together a mixture of avocados,
tomatoes, Serrano chilies, cilantro and a squeeze of fresh lime.

Agave Grill has gone "south" – make that southwest, actually, to Southington.
Olé. The upscale Mexican restaurant in downtown Hartford opens its second
location on busy Route 10 (461 Queen St) on Monday in a building once known as "HoJos." "It
was a Howard Johnson's years ago, and then it was "Bickfords" and then
Goldroc Diner," says Al Ferranti, one of the six-man group that is running
Agave, Vaughan's Public House and Wood-N-Tap. "We gutted everything. We
want to offer diners in this area a quality Mexican restaurant," says Ferranti. [READ

latest eatery
The Southington Citizen – January 29, 2007
Southington has never been known as a “trendy” type of
town, but it appears the first steps toward attaining that reputation
have been taken with the Agave Grill and Tequila Bar set to join Star
bucks Coffee on Queen Street. Southington resident Mike Hamlin and
his partners in the Hartford Restaurant Group will be opening the restaurant,
which they describe as an “upscale” restaurant serving
the best in Mexican, Southwestern and Latin, as in Cuban, food. [READ
